Mary Martin, proprietor of one of the world’s largest postcard collections, gathers more than 200 vintage hand-tinted and black-and-white postcards of Louisville from the 1900s through the 1940s.
The images tour Churchill Downs and the Cathedral of the Assumption, an antebellum plantation house and the Brown Hotel’s famous Hot Brown, a steamboat on the Ohio River, and the grounds of Fort Knox, tracing the city’s landmarks as they looked in an earlier era.
